Marine Fribourg singer and choral conductor

Marine Fribourg is a singer and choral conductor.

She is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (The Netherlands), where she studied singing specialising in early music with Peter Kooij, Michael
Chance and Jill Feldman. She now trains numerous singers and choirmasters in courses and masterclasses.

She performs throughout Europe in solo ensembles, including with Collegium Vocale Gent / Philippe Herreweghe, Tasto Solo / Guillermo Perez, Faenza / Marco Horvat, B’Rock vocal consort / Andreas Küppers, and as an oratorio soloist, where she is particularly appreciated for her interpretation of Bach’s music, notably with the Netherlands Bach Society / Johanna Soller, Gli Angeli Genève / Stephan MacLeod, Vox Luminis / Lionel Meunier.

From 2007 to 2023, she founded and directed the vocal ensemble Bergamasque. She is also the artistic director and mezzo-soprano of vocal quartet Damask, and performs regularly in recitals with the pianist and fortepianist Flore Merlin. For over ten years, she has been involved in the artistic and educational projects of the Académie Bach.

Marc Meisel harpsichord and organ player

Marc Meisel is a Franco-Swiss harpsichordist and organist.

In his solo recitals, Marc Meisel’s playing is sensitive and profound. He also plays basso continuo on both the harpsichord and the great organ, an art he practises with the ensembles InAlto and A Nocte Temporis. He is also a member of the orchestras Les Siècles and Capriccio Barockorchester. In 2011, he founded the Mischeli-Konzerte (Basel) concert season, which he now manages as artistic director.

Together with Saskia Salembier, he founded the Liberati Choir and Orchestra. Together, these musicians are exploring new organisational models, offering them greater freedom and responsibility. In 2022, they performed Handel’s Messiah without a conductor, conducting mainly by ear and breathing together. A film, L’Orchestre Réinventé, directed by Sylvain Trousselle, recounts this first experience. A tour in 2025 will take the musicians to several festivals in Switzerland, Germany and France. Marc has created several programmes for organ and voice in which the organ takes on an orchestral dimension. One of these is Cantates imaginaires, featuring arias by Bach and contemporary recitatives composed by himself. He trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and the Schola Cantorum in Basel.

He now teaches Baroque languages at the Conservatoire de Nanterre (France). He has also been organist at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Reinach (Basel) since 2006.
